Hamburg State and University Library Carl von Ossietzky (abbreviated as 'Stabi') located opposite Dammtor station. A great option for those who are interested in specific topics or academic research.

Library for Visually Impaired People
Hamburg also offers a library for the visually impaired with plenty of audio books and books in Braille. However, their collection is currently only available in German. The service is free of charge (donations appreciated).

Library of Commerce
One of the oldest business libraries in Germany. It offers information on economic and social sciences, tax and business law, education, and vocational training. Statistics and annual reports can be found in this unique library as well. You can also subscribe to more than 350 newspapers and periodicals.

The Library of The Hamburger Kunsthalle
About 210,000 books, catalogues, periodicals, CDs, DVDs and other kinds of media on artists and themes related to the Kunsthalle. This reference library is the most substantial art-historical specialist library in the North German region.

Staatsbibliothek Berlin
The largest scientific universal library in Germany, which is a centre for domestic and foreign literature. An online registration is valid for 30 days and enables you to access electronic resources, to access all reading rooms and to order items during a period of 14 days for use in the reading room only.

The Kunstbibliothek is one of the largest museum libraries dedicated to all facets of art history and cultural studies.

The Berlin Central and Regional Library (ZLB)
Germany's largest public library. More than 65.000 e-books and audio books in German and several other languages. They also in addition possess the Artotheque, Cinematheque and Music Library.

Universitätsbibliothek der Fernuniversität Hagen
A collection of around 850,000 books, articles and other media on various topics. At the reception it is possible to obtain a 1 or 7-day voucher for the library WLAN, which can be used at one of the many workstations with a power supply.

Universitätsbibliothek Technische Universität Dortmund
With around 1,000,000 media, TU Dortmund University's collection is in the middle range of libraries in North Rhine-Westphalia and covers many different degree programmes, including those in economics and technology, as well as many other subjects.

Universitätsbibliothek der Ruhruniversität Bochum
One of the larger libraries in North Rhine-Westphalia. Media can be borrowed for 30 calendar days. Access to W-Lan via eduroam is possible on site.

Bergische Universitätsbibliothek Wuppertal
The university library in Wuppertal contains around 1,200,000 items. There are a large number of workstations with power connections on site.
